About Dr. Mantilla

Dr. David Mantilla is a board-certified vascular surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex arterial and venous disease using open, endovascular, and hybrid techniques. Originally from South Florida, Dr. Mantilla and his family fell in love with Kansas City during his surgical training and have made it their home ever since.

 

Dr. Mantilla earned his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University before completing his Doctor of Medicine at the Trinity School of Medicine. He then went on to complete General Surgery training at Menorah Medical Center and advanced fellowship training in Vascular Surgery at the Jobst Vascular Institute.

 

His clinical practice focuses on the holistic assessment and treatment of patients with a wide range of vascular conditions, including peripheral arterial disease, carotid disease, aortic aneurysms, and venous insufficiency. His research interests include technical and device innovation in vascular and endovascular therapy.

Having personally experienced both sides of the patient care journey, Dr. Mantilla is deeply committed to patient autonomy and transparency. He believes that the patient is the most important member of the care team and values open, honest communication to achieve the best possible outcomes. Dr. Mantilla approaches every case with thorough preparation, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Mantilla is a proud husband and father to daughters. On weekends, he and his family enjoy exploring Kansas City with their Samoyed and Australian Shepherd dogs, often seeking out new coffee shops and barbecue spots. Raised in a vibrant Cuban American family, he loves Latin music and dancing with his wife. He’s also an avid movie enthusiast—his encyclopedic film knowledge is rivaled only by his passion for medicine.
